Barkas is expected to leave. He wants to stay but there is no option to buy + Celtic wants too high of a fee for him. It is still unknown whether Bozdogan and Sagnan will stay. Can has a buy option somewhere between 1 and 1.5 million as reported by clubwatchers, Sagnan's option is not known but believed to be around 2.5 million. I do however expect Descotte's loan to be made permanent no matter what, he'll be Douvikas's replacement if he leaves and otherwise a good backup instead of Dost (likely to leave). I do however think that we might activate both their (Bozzo & Sagnan) options. Only players we've been linked with for the summer are free agents, NEC's Bronkhorst & van Rooij, and we haven't spend a single euro over the winter. Seemingly to make it financially viable for the club to activate the options to buy for players that have it in their contracts. Booth is a complete unknown. Premier League clubs, Bundesliga clubs, ajax, feyenoord & PSV are all rumoured to be interested with some PL clubs already having made contact with his agent. Fee expected to be somewhere around 10 million mark but could easily see it becoming a bidding war. If he goes to a PL or Bundesliga club I expect him to be loaned out for another year, perhaps one more season with us. Realistically I can't see him move to ajax, feyenoord or psv, it's like a slightly forward but mostly sideways move for him.

Helemaal niet reactionair. Wanneer hadden jullie voor het laatst een verdedigend ingestelde middenvelder? Strieder? Jaar in jaar uit staan spelers als Maher en Toornstra als controlerende middenvelders opgesteld omdat de technische kant alleen maar leuke voetballertjes wil hebben. In de winter halen jullie weer flegmatieke spelers als Jensen en Labyad terwijl jullie een elftal aan dat soort spelers hebben. Bizar dat van Seumeren en co elke keer weer in dezelfde val lopen. Viergever op linksback, en 5 aanvallende middenvelders op de bank/tribune. Het is niet voor niks een meme.

Heel reactionair dit inderdaad. Labyad heeft gisteren zijn eerste wedstrijd gespeeld daar kan je nog niks zinnigs over zeggen. En juist de laatste jaren is Utrecht altijd geplaatst voor de play-offs met hier en daar een uitschieter naar boven, maar eigenlijk niet naar onder (In tegenstelling tot clubs als Heerenveen, Groningen, Vitesse en Twente). Jij hebt het over miljoenen, maar Utrecht geeft juist heel weinig uit, zou willen dat ze wat meer deden met het geld wat ze hebben. Financieel is de club verder gezond en met spelers als Booth, Douvikas en Bozdogan zal dat wel aan blijven houden. Het enige is dat het sportief gewoon niet altijd overhoudt. Het is altijd net niet die aansluiting bij de top die AZ (en Twente afgelopen seizoen) wel hebben, al komt dat natuurlijk ook omdat de begroting van Utrecht nou eenmaal minder is. Ben het wel eens dat het beleid beter kan, vooral met de keuze voor spelers. Ze halen goeie spelers binnen maar vaak lijken de transfers vooral opportunistisch. (Overigens vrij hypocriet om dit te horen van een Twente supporter, maar dat was je punt niet, dus zal ik niet verder over uitweiden).

Ik zou graag zo’n type erbij hebben.

Met name iemand die natuurlijk de restverdediging verzorgt en defensief denkt ipv spelers als Toornstra die moet worden omgeturnd. Dat is een grote factor in wedstrijden zoals afgelopen week tegen Spakenburg.

Los van dat er wel sprake is van matig beleid slaat dat nergens op natuurlijk. Ronde ervoor knikkeren ze AZ eruit, als ze dat op pingels hadden verloren had er geen haan naar gekraaid..

Er zitten nu soms eenmaal missers in. Younes was een misser. Maar voor de rest pakken de transfers best goed uit. Booth en Bozdogan lijken zelfs pure voltreffers. Dat was het seizoen daarvoor ook met Timber. Doen alsof we nu jarenlang geen visie hebben is wat reactionair.

Wat bedoel je met controle behouden? Ik denk dat je refereert naar een type bal winnaar als Zerrouki. Dat is een mogelijkheid, maar hoeft niet. Bozdogan is bijvoorbeeld meer een voetballende 6, zoals dat bij veel topclubs voorkomt. Ik zeg niet dat alles perfect gaat, maar jaren wanbeleid is wat dramatisch.

Upgrades: de Keijzer +3 Van der Maarel +1/2 (is always being underrated the last few years) Maher +1/2 (Not that great a season but his normal rating should be around 76/77 anyway) Timber +3 (potential too), veeery talented Ramselaar +1/2 Douvikas +1/2, very talented and good with the ball but needs to work on his end product Boussaid +1/2, st Jago +2, just got back from an injury but really promising defender Van der Kust +4, talented back, but haven't yet seen too much of him Downgrades: There are plenty of players having a pretty shit season, but which I wouldn't necessarily downgrade because their rating is fair as it is at the moment. Players like Gustafson, Mahi, van der Streek, Warmerdam and Sylla are not playing very well but their ratings fit prettt well. Same goes for players I'd upgrade. Most are underrated to begin with, but do not necessarily deserve to be upgraded because of their fine play atm. Only St. Jago, Timber, de Keijzer and Ramselaar do deserve it because of that

Brouwers is a fantastic signing. Solid, can hold the ball whilst also moving it forward, he is defensive but can support in attack and score a goal or 2. He can grow to become an all round great midfielder in the Netherlands seeing his age. Rating next year has to be 70/80 bare minimum. We are going to need signings like this, young players who want to establish themselves and expect themselves to put in great performances week in week out. All fun to go for experience (Mahi, Elia and Kramer) but they are all just not good enough for attacking the top 3 and establishing Top 5 finishes every season. Transfers are definitely moving in the right direction with Booth and Brouwers

De Keijzer +3 is a lot. Maarel has well.. not been good this season IMO. Maher, Ramselaar, Timber, Douvi, Boussaid, St. Jago and Vd Kust do need upgrades. Agree with you on most players. I do think vd Maarel should be at least 70, even though it's not his best season. He still has great games and his interceptions and work ethic are consistent every game. Also think de Keijzer has already proven to be a pretty solid keeper, especially his potential could be upgraded to 80 or so. Also think Timber should already be in the 70's regarding his current rating. What do you think of the new signing of Brouwers?

Tldr: Glasner left, they have replaced him with much worse coaches, Schalgers injury has thrown the balance from the team, they are defensively poor now, and pretty much everyone bar L. Nmecha is underperforming by a lot. More detail: Last year they had Oliver Glasner, who pretty much sapped a great deal out of their players, getting the best out of most of them and creating a very good defensive structure. They played a 4-2-3-1. The players that did not even get many starts who had talent (Brekalo) played bit-part roles and popped up when needed. Glasner then left to go to Frankfurt due to complications with the managing director and Wolfsburg hired Van Bommel. Van Bommel is nowhere near Glasner, practically destroyed the great defensive structure Wolfsburg had previously, just made the team incredibly frustrating to watch if you've seen them last season. They sacked him and hired Florian Kohfeldt, who's not well-liked and they have been playing really inconsistently. The injury to Xaver Schlager is also a massive one, he is their key player and pivotal in midfield as a tireless worker and he's been out since August.

and you're the kind of guy who thinks a certain position has one role and style of play, which is complete bollocks. 2 players who play in the same part of the pitch can do different things but have an equally important role in their team. Fernandinho hardly even plays for City anymore, he is nowhere near Kimmichs level.

Your boys played very well today against France U21. Especially De Wit did really well in his CM role as the biter next to Harroui the playmaker. Would love to see him fulfill that role more often in the 4-2-2-2. If Koopmeiners were to leave, it could be very fun if AZ gets Harroui as a replacement so AZ can try that tactic out again.

-Cuisance is a lil bitch apparently, Marseille don't want him and neither do Bayern -Nianzou has been injured for a long time, so hard to tell but it's been mady very clear the talent is there to be a future starter -Zirkzee couldn't hack it in Italy and will most likely be loaned out again, or sold. Probably no future at Bayern, sadly. -Roca's first season under Nagelsmann will decide everything, if he's used as little as with Flick he will surely leave. -Richards has been immense this season, one of, if not the best of Hoffenheim's defense. Apparently Bayern prefer he stay at the club next season but Hoffenheim are looking to extend the loan (very enthusiastically) -Arrey-Mbi will probs be loaned out, good talent but not good enough to get playing time yet. -Haven't heard much about Stanisic, Dajaku and Stiller -Tillman, Mai, Arp, Fruchtl will most likely be sold.
