"It's very funny, because footballers are only told to stick to football when they say or do something that isn't too masculine. When we play PlayStation, drive fast cars or get drunk, no one says anything. But when Borja [Iglesias] paints his nails or when I go to a fashion show, that's when they question us, that's when what we do affects our football" Proper lad.

He's overall a very good striker, a bit rough still. In our current style of play, where strikers get more chances, he could replicate his first season form. He only needs to mature and become slightly more intelligent (football wise, obv). If De Rossi works on him, he could be massive

In an extremely emotional and strong letter to The Players Tribune, Matheus Pereira reveals problems with depression, drugs and drinking, and that Cruzeiro, his favorite team, was his salvation in football: “For me it was all darkness and despair. I was tired of fighting. I was tired of being tired. I wanted to get rid of so much suffering that I didn't even understand where it came from. There were nights when I drank 3 bottles of wine. I trained drunk several times and spent many more times in hospital, taking IV fluids, because I wasn't eating, I was only drinking alcohol. One day I opened the window of the apartment with a spectacular view and the only reason I didn't jump was because my wife was quicker. She pulled me inside and we spent a long time crying, hugging each other there on the living room floor, knowing that it wasn't the end — neither mine, nor the end of my suffering. One time I took the car keys and ran away... I didn't care about the destination, as long as it was the end. Then my cell phone rings. It was my younger sister. I already answered crying: 'I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore. Help me, for the love of God! I want to kill myself. I need to kill myself'. She had called me to share with me the happiest news of her life: she was going to be a mother... We talked a lot, my sister said that the baby would need a great uncle to teach him or her how to play ball. This moved me a lot and brought me momentary happiness, which was not enough to silence that death impulse in my head. As soon as I switched off my cell phone, I wanted to go to Hudariyat bridge. What if I throw myself away? And that. I'm going to throw myself off this bridge. Ready. He finished. I started the car and the car wouldn't start. I tried again. Anything. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get the car to start and I couldn't. I insisted in every way, but it didn't stick. It felt like there was something stopping me. Until my wife appears, opens the car door and gives me a hug. Would I be able to find an authentic life in football again? Would there still be time? Where would this be possible? Which way? The path he showed me was the five most beautiful stars in the sky. Those five that shine in an infinite and glorious blue. When Cruzeiro came to me, I imagined the five stars shining above my heart and said: Damn, that's it! What could be more authentic in my life than Cruzeiro? I've always been from Cruzeiro. Before everything happened, when football was just an immense and true joy, I played football wanting to be Alex, wanting to win the Triple Crown, even though all my family supported my rival. If it could work, if there was any hope, Cruzeiro was my only path. I gathered my things in Portugal and, anxiously, for the first time I made a big change of my own free will. At Cruzeiro I found more than peace. I found myself again''.

My favourite game is going through top Portuguese players and seeing if they played with Wolves or not. Genuinely a lot more have than you'd think. Vitinha, Pedro Goncalves, Rui Patricio, Diogo Jota, Trincao, Goncalo Guedes, etc
avatar
I´m chilling in new created squads sometimes xd. maybe start Schick then and use Grimaldos crossing. for the 3atb formation, maybe Pacho as lcb?
avatar
Interesting lineup, so you basicly play a 6 at the back?
avatar
it's only a problem for you when it's an African player. you don't mind that Messi plays for Argentina instead of Spain or Dybala not playing for Italy. Malaga did not force Brahim to become a footballer, he did so himself. It's the same with Ziyech. They got training facilities in exchange for their skill, not for some promise to play for Spain or the Netherlands respectively.

I used to pair him up with bella kotchap back when they were about the same rating. I cant find the chef kiss emoji (just imagine me using the chef kiss emoji)
avatar
I've decided to create a squad with more accurate ratings as many of our players' ratings & stats are wildly wrong. I'll be keeping it up to date after each game throughout the season with upgrades/downgrades and lineup/formation changes as well as some extra stats & information. https://sofifa.com/squad/1779007

Your criticism is somewhat unfounded imo because your letting perfect be the enemy of good. We've amassed the same number of points at this stage of the season as we had during the scudetto winning season.
avatar
It's a shame his career has taken a bit of a hit after that ACL injury, but he'll always be one of my favourite Arsenal players, and I'll always feel proud that he felt like a true representative of the club. I really hope that our academy players look up to Bellerin as an example. His values, the way he carries himself, his lack of fear for speaking up and standing up for what's right. These are things that are seen far too little in the men's game. We really need more people like him in football.
avatar
For the ones asking about his name: he has a flemish/dutch name because the town his was born borders Belgium. Back in the day a large portion of Northern France used to be part of Flanders. That's why you have many flemish surnames there (for exemple the football player Anthony Knockaert). I for exemple also have family in Lens, a lot also emigrated there after the war from Belgium (like in my family's case). I suppose that he is also an exemple of that. I am 100% sure that his grand dad is of Belgian decent.

He's right and that's it. Hakan was never the main guy in Milan as he wasn't that good here and so many times just wasted chances over and over again the whole match, I wasn't even mad that he left for free (the fact that he went to Inter is another thing). Brahim has qualities and talent but he was inconsistent too, he's simply playing in a totally different league and for one of the best managers ever now, that surely makes a difference. Hakan has nothing to do with our judgement about Brahim. Also you're comparing stats of a fully experienced and around 26/27yo who spent years at the club to a 22yo at his first full season as a starter ever

I will never forgive United for choosing not to give this guy a contract, meanwhile they gave out contracts to deadwood including Smalling, Young, Mata, Jones, Darmian just for them to leave within the next 12 months or become really bad reserve players. He truly fought for the badge, was a good cdm, and showed leadership.

3 disastrous years for him, his signing was very hard to make, with the lockdown and missed training sessions during pandemics and the big compettion(with AC Milan and Benfica, Real Madrid and Monaco after him) after his signing he suffered a patellar tendon rupture which kept him out of play for more than 500 days, now he is returning back and looks great, really great, slowly won the starting place at Frosinone and to be honest (I know I'm a Juve fan and it may seem biased) I can see him becoming a new Muriel type of player, I was afraid he will lose his pace after this injury but he still has it and that creativity for a complete type of ST who can play alone or behind a target man.
avatar
PSG board aren't patient at all. If the manager doesn't win the CL in his debut season or in his 2nd one he's deemed as a failure. Meanwhile Guardiola, the best manager in the world, still needed 7 years to win the CL with City, and yet they were patient. PSG doesn't give a manager time to work his craft, to pick his players. It's just "Go, work with what you have". The main factor is neither the manager or the players. It's the board.

Comments like this make me laugh. The man made over 150 apps in all comps for us, had a very good season under Mauricio Sarri contributing to our Europa League victory before he got injured long term. Now he’s playing for a top team in Milan. How exactly is that killing his career? 🤡

There are people out there who genuinely believe that Tomori is a bad footballer and that Milan play better without him. He's like a football IQ test you can gauge how much someone know about the game just off of their opinion on him.

'its something you cant do in the prem' the commentator says. what an idiot probably has never watched a proper football game in his life. why would they allow that in france?
avatar
respect for him coming out with the side of footballers that isn’t seen by the public. takes a lot to admit yourself that you slacked in training for years because you thought there wasn’t more to learn and that you were already at the best. he’s changed his hair to pink this season to represent the realization to needing to take his profession seriously and has gotten a personal trainer over the summer and has now dedicated himself to learning, improving everyday. very, very mature mindset at his age. hope to see great things of him this season.
avatar
Of course..but its easy to choose: big money or little money while playing in League 2 in France?

Great ball from Pogba, great cross from Iling, great finish by Dusan. Fucking finally.
