As far as I know there are no links (by reliable sources) to Simakan, the only RCB that were linked with during this window was Pavard and he (if no miracle happens) won't come either. I've just read that Fabrizio Romano said Liverpool are going to sign a midfielder and a defender in this window. The midfielder is most likely going to be Lavia (still negotiating for the fee) and defender is most lost likely going to be a LCB as you already mentioned. So it seems like Gomez will still be Konate's cover for the RCB position this season, maybe in the next summer we'll see what will happen with Matip and Gomez and then maybe look for new defender backups but for now it's all set I assume.

Contract is running out next summer, he'll be 30 soon and the links about Alvarez seem very concrete, I doubt he'd join us if he wasn't a guaranteed starter. It would be nice to have 2 quality players for the CDM position tho
