Apart from the referee's decision to give Jota a first yellow he wasn't all that bad. VAR were more responsible for the errors in communication. Simon Hooper was fine and no worse/better than other referees. The error lies with the VAR referee and how they used the camera angle on Jones red, which is arguably still a red for me, and for the offside goal miscommunication which was shambolic. Absolute travesty to lose in the fashion we did.
