Realistically I reckon it'll be us and City going for it again next season. We are very much in the Pep vs Mikel era. If there was a team that could be a third challenger? I reckon it'd be Chelsea considering their end of season form, unlikely though. Slott at Pool will either be a disaster or they'll have some growing pains similar to what we had after Wenger left. Spurs? I rate Ange but the cuck mentality of the fanbase, players, and club hierarchy are holding them back too much. United are shit. Newcastle? They're not quite there yet. Foundations are there, they'll be challenging soon.
avatar
The only ones who laugh at us are Liverpool: They seem to have forgotten the level of their team when Klopp arrived Man City: I feel like PSG are laughing at us Tottenham: ... Only 5 years and we went from David Luiz to fighting for the PL two years in a row but for them this is "bottle" the league
avatar
Huge respect to every Spurs supporter. I was one of them for 3 days and it was absolutely terrible experience. Be an Spurs supporter is incredible pain and suffering. Huge respect to them.
avatar
Lol, no its not. We'd benefit from you winning. All we care about is Arsenal. All we care about is Arsenal winning. All you care about is Arsenal losing.
avatar
Completely different situation. Chelsea winning that game had no effect on where we were going to finish. We were out of the title race long before that and Chelsea were solidly mid-table. This time its different. You guys actually have a chance of still getting ucl, and considering you lost your best player last summer, that would be a decent season finish. Yeah Liverpool bottled it yesterday but Palace still have a very good chance of beating Villa (who aren't exactly in the best run of form). I think you should guys should have a bit more respect for the manager and the players because saying they should just "throw the game" is a massive middle finger to the club (and yourselves tbh).

Everyone’s favourite SoFIFA user predicts a 1-0 win for Tottenham today 👀 https://s3a.sofifa.net/1778b5d8a4dfb608a3544c85a407f87d3685fa18.jpg
avatar
Tottenham fans aren't Tottenham fans today lmao
avatar
It’s quite ironic that Liverpool conceded two goals from Duran Duran because that band are based in Birmingham just like Aston Villa are.
avatar
Zirkzee or sesko probably most likely out of anyone. I’d rather us sign a top winger instead

Hope he goes to Arsenal
avatar
We are in for Sesko ig, Gyokeres and Zirkzee rumors have died down since Sesko's agent was seen in the town.

https://twitter.com/willbalsam/status/1789712034520584289?t=piyMumtQ5M6H-0MQsorX8A&s=19 This. Hard pill to swallow for some fans.
avatar
About the performance, right side - White, Odegaard and Saka were all really poor. Partey awful, Tomi underwhelming. Raya, Gabriel, Saliba (MOTM), Rice (kind of), Trossard and Kai were our only decent performers. One of the worst performances of the season against a ridiculous side... Anyway, 3 points at Old Trafford. Fighting until the last game!

https://s3a.sofifa.net/501d73960a84b3de3c5813a1aba6457e441d1922.jpg How do you teach a 4 time ucl champion to hold an offside trap?
avatar
One great game on his debut against Burnley. Forget Antony this guy was the original fidget spinner.
avatar
Yes.
avatar
can we stop pretending this guy is good now? average at everything lower half/championship level striker. no amount of arteta coaching and micromanaging will make this guy a good player. his contribution for us should be limited to fa cup and carabao
avatar
Im Ngl I’m not too impressed w this Tottenham side. Like they’ll make top 4 this year but they got very very lucky against a NINE men Liverpool team. Liverpool would’ve crushed them had they had 11 on the field. And this was at home for them.
avatar
https://twitter.com/Olly_A_informer/status/1708174043667386819?t=94krAvmtePwVIgxfPBC_eA&s=19 . Lmao. Bizarre. HOW don't you draw the lines there? Robbery. Worse than that "mistake" against us vs Brentford last season
avatar
Cooooook🔥😅 https://s3a.sofifa.net/eadcf7d6ce1c554312f819fed20631f619ad198f.jpg
avatar
Unbelievable. I hope they just didn't show it. That looked clearly onside for me
avatar
They didn't even draw a line, I don't understand?
avatar
So they checked 4 seconds for a clearly unclear offside, on the other hand when it's White they check the VAR for 2 minutes to find a non-existent offside
avatar
This is what Chelsea said for their last 40 signings of the Bohely era
avatar
We should be all over this deal. Especially now when Napoli just can't ask that kind of money they wanted to. Edu should be already in Napoli.
avatar
Over Osimhen? He’s clear of both of them lol
avatar
If Brentford is actually asking for 80m for Toney they can keep him or sell him to Chelsea and we can sign a better ST in the summer…
avatar
Time for Nelson and ESR The management was bad, we wait until players are injured to rotate. Saka has been on borrowed time since last season with his injury, we have to manage differently.
avatar
They're good but they don't look like ''Arsenal players'', they're a U-turn. These are players that I see being good in Simeone's hand, they are all fighters above all else
avatar
Looks like a lovely place to visit. Don't want to get on the wrong side of the mafia though.
avatar
I don't think Toney is that prolific, he looks better than he really is because of the penalty goals, if you look at the goals from open play Jesus himself has more goals per minute last season. But anyway, I've expressed myself badly, I don't think there's anyone undoubtedly better for that amount, I can only name a few of the same level, but for that amount I'd rather bet on some U23 player with the same characteristics, someone dangerous in the air, and rely on our current strikers for the next 2 or 3 seasons
avatar
If we buy Toney, we risk not being able to get a genuinely top-quality ST in the summer. Knowing Arsenal I think it's almost guaranteed that we won't go for Osimhen for example if we buy Toney in the winter. One of the factors would be that we'd overspend on Toney's transfer cus that's what we do. Baguette AFC below is talking about links of "at least 60 mil pounds" for Toney. For me, that's too much for him, let alone if we have hopes to go for Osimhen in the summer. The only reason why I'd be down for Toney would be if come winter we're looking quite positive in the league in terms of chances of winning it, probably minimum 2nd place and at max 2-3p below City plus dominating our CL group. Toney would be a smart signing only if we're close to something big and he helps us push toward it. Otherwise Osimhen in the summer is just the outright better decision.
avatar
b) all day, Toney is a good striker but I don't think he will take us to a higher level. To compete with the elite we need the elite.
avatar
Yeah, not particularly him but a great no 9 would make your squad a massive difference. Arteta and Edu should stop buying off Chelsea honestly. Maybe Sesko could be an option.
avatar
Arsenal on a home match day https://s3a.sofifa.net/c64a1786983f8b29523cfb5ceec3f498a44eedf0.jpg
avatar
Vlahović is not that good, but on your point we focused most of our money on the Rice deal and a No.9 would cost a similar amount. More likely to be an option for next season.
avatar
paying the ref???? so every time a club you are not supporting gets a favourable decision it is "paying the ref"?? Penalty was so deserved, clear handball, not even the most delusional people could defend that. The yellows are deserved as well, some later tackles should deserve cards that weren't make up for ones that got cards that weren't deserved
avatar
Osimhen is the answer
avatar
Thought our build-up and possession was really bad today. Most our chances came from counters and high pressing. Whatever Arteta did at halftime (having zinchenko stay wide and Odegaard drop deeper to play alongside Jorginho) failed miserably. I like Eddie and normally defend him, but his laziness in the press really pissed me off today. Almost had an aneurysm when Jesus came off instead of him. Still ... he's played well in every other game this season.
avatar
we got this adrenaline rush for our first CL game in years but shat ourselves against spuds
avatar
Now people come to defend Eddie lmao. He’s the worse player we have today. Sell him, you all saying he’s good. Just imagine what we can do with better striker than him. Sell him ffs, just because he’s hale end boy dont mean he’s anti critism.
avatar
What’s your guys’ take on that handball call on Romero? I heard Gary Neville say it’s harsh and disagrees with the call
avatar
Never seen Arsenal play so flat in a NLD Injuries exposing the squad today. Martinelli a cut above the rest down our left
avatar
Criminally overrated
avatar
If only we played with 2 CAMs... oh wait, we play with 2 CAMs. And ESR is naturally a CAM, he played winger because it worked well with Tierney. We saw it yesterday in the last 20 minutes, ESR naturally knows how to combine with the players around him and knows how to play in small spaces. I am sure that with work he has a future alongside Odegaard
avatar
Streets won't forget how important of a player ESR was in the 2021/22 season. Unfortunately for him in the 2022/23 season he got injured, Arteta changed his formation and style of play which doesn't fit ESR. Odegaard has claimed the CAM position, Martinelli has solidified himself as the starter at LW with Trossard good competition. Not to mention that the fullbacks now invert instead of overlap, which was how he worked well with that support.
avatar
Fr, imagine Martinelli coming on at 65’/70’ against tired legs
avatar
Ohana means family, Onana pure shite.
avatar
Honestly why do Kai’s finishes have to be so sloppy - he gets into such good scoring positions but always seems to slash at the ball instead of strike through it. Hopefully something that Mikel can coach since both Saka and Ødegaards ball striking have improved literally tenfold Or maybe it’s just confidence? poor excuse atp I know
avatar
Chill, you’re running your Raya > Ramsdale agenda when in both matches Raya hasn’t had anything of note to do other than catch some crosses 😂 if he gets the nod over Ramsdale at the weekend then I’m sure he’ll be tested properly
avatar
Yes congratulations for claiming cross that were on him. Lang and Bakayoko didn't really shine with their cross skills. Cross were ridiculous. I will judge Raya when he has something to do on his line. The disrespect on Ramsdale is crazy
avatar
Got to many people here treating UCL like it’s the Europa league lmao.
avatar
There is no rotation to be made this evening, maybe one or two players maximum. We didn't eat our shit for 6 years to line up our B team for the first CL match at The Emirates. PSV is not a small team and CL is not a competition for turnover. City had no turnovers yesterday, with the exception of one or two players. We must not take this group too easily.
avatar
That my friend would be a lot of rotation haha. My predicted line up is this: Ramsdale Tomiyasu Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko Rice Odegaaed Havertz Saka Jesus Trossard
avatar
Idc against who it is, CL is CL, we don't have it so we gotta win it.
avatar
It's gotta be UCL
avatar
CL, idc about City, due to money a lot of records will be smashed anyway.
avatar
I can’t even fathom winning the CL. Seeing Arsenal at the absolute summit of Europe would be my all time dream. As much as fans are hungry for the PL title, you can’t deny how incredibly epic winning the champions league would be
avatar
So so good. Wasn’t playing that well today especially in the first half but his end product is a game changer
