For sure. Those statistics often say center backs are the fastest in the league because they make the most straight line sprints into space.

A summary of his last season on loan at KV Oostende in Belgium: In the first game of the season he started off brilliantly, being a key player in a 1-2 victory over Anderlecht. What made him stand out were his interceptions and defensive awareness. It was impressive to see how he could read the game from a defensive point of view. Most of his time on the pitch he used these qualities over and over, stealing the ball and handing it back to his team. He even got in a couple of shots (in future games, getting in shots was rather rare). Interesting note: Palaversa was known for excellent long passing, but he rarely showed any of that in the Belgian league. Either due to the coach instructing him to play short passes or the fact that he had less space and time to perform them. In the first 5 games of the season he was a constant force. Always putting pressure on every midfield. With him as a lock on midfield they scored 9 out of 15 points, a pretty good start of the season for a team like KV Oostende. After those 5 games he picked up an injury and was out for 10 weeks. During his absence his team's form crumbled and only managed to gather a mere 3 out of 30 points. After his injury he practically played every minuted of every game that followed. In the second game he featured after his injury, KVO even managed to beat Anderlecht for a second time in the season winning 3-2. It looked like he was back on track. As the rest of the season played out, he did not disappoint, but he did not manage to get his team back on the rails either. He did not impress like he did at the start of the season. And Oostende ended up 15th (barely avoiding relegation) with 22 points out of 87. When a young player like him wants to develop and improve to get a shot at City, you might expect a little more. Given the fact that he did make a noticable impact on team, I am not convinced it was a lost season, though. I'd like to see what he can do in a bigger team where a team can create more with the work he delivers. At the end of the season he had a total of 0 goals and 0 assists. But then again, he is a defensive midfielder who's main focus is stealing the ball from his opponent and feeding it back to his own team. Don't forget, a lot of this is based on my interpretation of the facts and on what I've seen from him during the season. Feel free to discuss!

he was class at waterford, pretty much the only good player last season

This guy isn't a great prodigy, but still underrated no doubt. If he keeps working hard, he can be a regular rotational option for us in the future. I'd say 69/82 is fair for now.

Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪 isn't in Britain, technically neither is Northern Ireland. Great Britain refers to the island comprised of 3 nations, Scotland, Wales and England. If you want to include Northern Ireland players in this team then change the title to "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland U23 squad" & never include players from the Republic of Ireland

A wc CDM needs to be at least solid when it comes to 1v1s, or am I forgetting something? Most top tier PL teams (and that's exactly where I see him, if he'd join the league within the next few years) play with 1-CDM-only systems like offensive 4-3-3 (just assuming bc of soFifa, correct me, if I'm wrong) and on top comes that the league is not only the best/most difficult (except Utd, bc fuck u), but most physcial one out of the Top5 leagues in Europe. Won't deny ur point, but I didn't watch enough PL recently, except the Top6, to give an unbaised onpinion, & I doubt EPL changed that much within the past 1,5 years.
