His spell at Fiorentina was average, not bad by any means but just not that good. He decided to go back to Ligue 1 to rebuild his confidence and he picked Nantes. I honestly think he was only supposed to play like 2 seasons for us and then he sould have moved to a bigger club. Yet, it's his 5th season at Nantes and his carrer has stagnated and even declined. His first 2 seasons were average but then he had his excellent 2021/2022 seson. He won the national cup, was generally viewed as one of the best GK of the league and earned his first call-up for France. His hype was back but somehow he didn't found a new club and stayed here. The problem is that during last season and during the current one, he's not doing good. It's never been that bad. Just not decisive enough. Nantes is struggling a lot and we are facing a serious risk of relegation. It would be the final straw for Lafont's reputation, I don't see which club will want to sign him after these 2 seasons.
