Altough he may prefer a club where he will become first striker, he can still really develop and play a lot of minutes at Ajax, as Ajax is one of the best clubs for talents like him(together with RB Salzburg and other clubs like that).

I think he is better suited for Ajax. Ajax plays very offensive football, so he can play very close to the goal and doesn't have to make much runs to get in a goalscoring position. At Schalke he has to run way more and I don't think he can do that with his age and stamina tbh.

People look at him and think he's De Ligt and that's unfair imo. He's not straight up "bad" as people claim. De Ligt is generational and is bossing around Juventus' defense at 20 years old, lol. Bit of an unfair comparison. It's like comparing Antony to Neymar and holding it against him every game, that's some big boots to fill. He's not as talented as De Ligt but I can see Schuurs doing very well in the future, but he won't be captaining Barca or whatever. That is also fine of course. Maybe he will, you never know.
