Não vês adeptos de outros clubes europeus a comparar a quantidade de ligas Europa e afins? Para isso a resposta é simples: não vês porque não queres ver. Eu sigo várias páginas de futebol inglês, porque é a liga que mais gosto, e aquilo é ácido entre adeptos dos diversos clubes, dos mais pequenos aos maiores. Depois, para um clube que tanta força fez para considerar a Taça Ibéria um troféu oficial, a tua sobranceria aos títulos internacionais do clube regional, e usando as tuas palavras, é terceiro mundista. Mas temos outros exemplos. As selecções nacionais. O maior título de umas selecção nacional, é o Mundial, quer com isto dizer que não podes comprar Europeus, Taça das Nações, Copa América, etc? Não somos regionais, mas somos regionalistas, bairristas, e defensores do que é nosso, não obstante, compreendermos que o clube é mais do que uma cidade Seja como for, para alguém que se acham muito instruído, demonstras uma ignorância tamanha no que a futebol internacional diz respeito. Duvido que apelides essas equipas como pequenas - até porque muitas têm mais adeptos que o teu clube, têm mais gente nos estádios, têm mais títulos e dimensão. O problema, aqui, reside na forma como o futebol nacional funciona. Ainda há uns velhos do Restelo que acham que o Benfica é o centro do futebol nacional, que sem o Benfica o futebol nacional não funcionaria. Mas não podiam estar mais longe da verdade. Internacionalmente, o Benfica é o que é... limitado e pouco vencedor. A nível nacional, num campeonato com 18 equipas, se o Benfica deixasse de aqui jogar, o desporto continuaria. Assim como continuaria sem um FC Porto ou um Sporting CP. O impacto seria grande? Diria que sim, mas seguiria. São o clube com mais adeptos? Sem dúvida. Apesar de nem o próprio estádio conseguir encher. São o clube com maior potencial financeiro? Sem dúvida. São o clube com mais sucesso nacional e internacional nas últimas décadas? Não, não são. E temos o exemplo desta temporada: mais de 100 milhões de euros gastos em contratações, para correrem o risco de apenas ganharem uma Supertaça. Poderão ser, na tua cabecinha, um clube mundial, mas a títulos, prestígio e gestão, são regionalistas. Porque no final do dia, o que torna um clube de dimensão, para além da sua massa associativa, são os troféus que guarda no Museu, e no caso do teu clube, no que a troféus diz respeito nas últimas décadas, é mais regional do que o meu.
