SEASON RECAP: A difficult first campaign for the Königsblauen in which they field the squad with the lowest average rating in the league. A completely new team takes on the task of not getting relegated from the 3. Liga. Consisting of only former Schalke (youth) players and squad players from other teams from the NRW region, they ultimately succeed. After a surprisingly decent start to the season, the wave of euphoria ultimately gets killed. In the end, a poor second half of the season sees Schalke in a acceptable 15th spot.
