Storyline:
NEC Nijmegen are finally back in the Eredivisie after their relegation in 2017. Since their original manager Rogier Meijer impressed very much in his stint at NEC, he decided to move to his beloved De Graafschap to try and bring them back to the Eredivisie. This left the board of NEC in charge of finding a replacement, they scouted in the entire Netherlands and found their next manager in Jordi Kamphof, a very succesfull manager in the Dutch amateur leagues. Kamphof led his hometown club SV Huizen to numerous trophies in the amateur football system. Besides that Kamphof's teams performed amazing in the KNVB Cup for several years, where he even defeated a couple of 1st and 2nd division teams during his time. Kamphof's job is to keep NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie and try to build towards European qualification.
Rules:
#1 The rich and ambitious owner of NEC (Marcel Boekhoorn >> true story) wants to establish NEC as a steady Eredivisie club that fights for European qualification, but he also wants to keep a connection with the region of Nijmegen. At this moment NEC already has a strong youth academy, therefore the focus of the owner is to bring in ex-NEC players and players from Nijmegen to fulfill his goal. The return of Lasse Schøne started off this trend.
#2 I am not allowed to buy high profile players (75+ OVR) until I qualify for European football. I set negotiations on strict, so I am not able to buy 80+ OVR players at all.
#3 I am not allowed to buy crucial / important players from top leagues, top European clubs in lower leagues and from the top teams in the Netherlands (Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, AZ and our rivals Vitesse).
#4 A note on the 3rd rule. I am allowed to loan young talents from Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord and AZ if they are not guaranteed playing time.
Transfers in.
- B. Nuytinck (CB) for €2.800.000
- K. Roos (GK) for €1.300.000
- V. Arveladze (ST) for €850.000
- M. Dahoud (CAM) on a 0,5-year loan from Dortmund
Loanees out.
- M. De Wolf (CDM) 1-year loan to Ingolstadt
- R. Roefs (GK) 1-year loan to RFC Seraing
- T. Beekman (CAM) 1-year loan to SD Huesca
- J. Bruijn (CAM) 0,5-year loan to Club Brugge
